Devon Wildlife Trust Open Day 26th June
The aqueduct canal runs through the National Nature Reserve at Dunsdon. It is managed by DWT and a day was arranged for the public to visit the site and find out about it’s management. The Trust provided a guided walk along the canal, explaining about the history, as well as the wildlife. This gave the wildlife trust a chance to walk from the Dunsdon site to their other reserve along the canal at Vealand. At this site the work being done to restore some of the culm grassland was explained. We also had a stand and a lot of interest was shown in the work of the Canal Trust.
